In frame of the agricultural mechanization policy of Egypt and transfer of technology,

the Government is encouraging the following:

• introduction and use of harvesting and threshing machines of cereal grains especially rice and wheat at farmer's level, cooperatives, private-, and governmental farms;
• introduction and use of spraying and dusting equipments as well as swingfog apparatus to control pre- and postharvest pests of cereal grains;
• introduction of sieving machines for establishment of new sieving stations for seeds of cereal grains;
• increase the production of wheat and maize flour by construction of modern flour mills for milling of wheat and corn in the cities;
• increasing number and grain storage capacity by construction of warehouses and silos in big cities;
• replacement of open air grain storage in the shounas of PBDAC by construction of warehouses;
• increase the production of cereal grains especially wheat by increasing the yield and the cultivated area;
• encourage projects aiming to reduce postharvest losses of grains.
